In September 1904, the Cuban X-Giants and Philadelphia Giants met in a rematch of their 1903 Championship series. Several teams from the winning 1903 X-Giants had jumped to the Philadelphia Giants, including Hall-of-Famer and future Negro National League founder Rube Foster. The newly fortified Philadelphia Giants beat the Cuban X-Giants 2-1 to take the mythical "Black Baseball Championship" of 1904.
