The 1945 Negro League World Series matched up the Cleveland Buckeyes (CVB) of the Negro American League and the Homestead Grays (HOM) of the Negro National League. This was the Grays' fourth consecutive World Series appearance.
While the 1945 Negro League World Series was officially a four-game sweep, the Grays and Buckeyes actually played eight games against each other, four of which were exhibition games. The Grays' timing was quite poor as they managed to win 3 of the 4 exhibition games. Box scores have been found three of the four exhibition games. Play-by-play accounts have only been deduced for the four official games.
