Notable Negro League Games: High-K Performances

Retrosheet has compiled game accounts for (at least) four games which saw a significant strikeout performance by a Negro League pitcher. The earliest such game was an 18-strikeout performance by Rube Foster in 1904. The other games include a 27-strikeout performance by Joe Williams (in 12 innings), a 20-strikeout performance by Al Gipson (in 9 innings), and a pitching matchup between Satchel Paige and Chet Brewer that saw a combined 30 strikeouts.
