In the top of the second, Brian Goodwin hit a fly to right center that a fan tried to catch about a foot directly above the yellow line at the top of the wall. The ball went through his hands, bounced on the top of the wall, off of a low railing above the wall, and back into the field. It was called a homer, and the call stood after the reveiw ordered by crew chief Brian Gorman.
9/23 MIL @ PIT
Orlando Arcia's line drive to left in the top of the second was caught in his glove by a young fan who reached over the wall, and it was ruled a double. The call was upheld by the replay review called for by crew chief Mike Winters.
9/25 ATL @ NYN
Michael Conforto hit a drive to center in the bottom of the third that hit the orange line right at the top of the wall and came back into the field. He reached second for a double, and the review ordered by crew chief Fieldin Culbreth confirmed the call.
9/26 KCA @ CIN
In the top of the fourth, Jorge Bonifacio hit a drive down the left field line that a fan reached in front of the pole and deflected the ball off the top of the wall and into the field. It was ruled fan interference and a double with the runner on first going at third, which stood after the replay requested by crew chief Tom Hallion.
9/26 DET @ MIN
Johnny Field's fly to left in the bottom of the fourth hit the concrete floor of the flower bed behind the wall and bounced back into the field. He stopped at second, and the call was a double, but the review ordered by crew chief Larry Vanover overturned the call to a home run.
10/17 BOS @ HOU, ALCS, game 4
In the bottom of the first, Jose Altuve hit a drive to right that was headed into the stands for a two-run homer when Mookie Betts leaped and apparently reached into the stands about to make a remarkable catch when a fan closed the glove before Betts could make the catch. The ball bounced back into the field, and right field umpire and crew chief Joe West ultimately ruled fan interference so Altuve was out. The replay review was inconclusive, so the out call stood.
